8 Inkster, MI Inkster, MI Part-time Part-time $18 - $20 an hour $18 - $20 an hour 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago Summer Food Coordinator Position Summary The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a federally funded program, administered by the State of Michigan to provide free and nutritious meals to children 18 years old and younger.
Zaman is a SFSP Sponsor and is in need of an SFSP Program Coordinator.
The ideal candidate must be detail oriented, possess superior organizational skills, demonstrate strong leadership skills and be self-motivated.
You will work an average of 15-25 hours per week from April to September, at our headquarters and virtually.
Duties will include setting up the administrative part of the program from April to May.
This will include outreach and recruiting to potential summer food sites.
Meals are served at various locations within a 20- mile radius, and the Hope for Humanity is also a feeding site.
A large part of this position is administrative:
Maintaining the Nexsys federal application and data entry, monitoring documentation and program timelines, monitoring program sites and compliance, and recruiting / managing support personnel.
Previous SFSP experience preferred.
Start Date:
Early March, performing administrative program set up, and runs through October 1st, for final reporting.
Hours:
Vary from 15-25 hours per week (with the busiest period being June - August) Qualifications Must be able to work independently to master the program materials and demonstrate a keen sense of responsibility.
Must be committed to managing the program the entire summer, June to September.
Attention to detail and organized is critical in executing a successful program.
Math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide Experienced in using spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel This is a hands-on position.
Must be comfortable participating in all aspects of programming including:
indoor and outdoor activities set up preparation work and cleanup when applicable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills Responsibilities Coordinator will assist administration in filing and monitoring Nexsys grant applications and assume all administrative and logistical responsibility for running the program.
Coordinator will recruit and train administrative staff, site monitors, and delivery personnel including vendors.
Coordinator will oversee all meal service and distribution; track meals ordered vs served, and validate monitoring documentation and compliance.
Coordinator will recruit sites in Inkster, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights and surrounding areas as host sites for meal distributions.
Coordinator will attend Michigan Department of Education's regional training session prior to the start of the program, attend funder-training sessions and provide factual and concise final program reports.
Coordinator will conduct host-sites training sessions, virtually or in person, prior to the start of the program and ensure each site can demonstrate appropriate knowledge of compliance requirements.
Coordinator is responsible for selection of key staff to work alongside him/her in delivering program goals, (2) Site Monitors, (1) Kitchen staff for Zaman's self-prep meals and (1) food delivery driver.
Coordinator will work with Zaman's Culinary Art's staff on self-prep menu quality, procurement expenses and record keeping.
Coordinator will work with Zaman's Volunteer for onsite meal distributions.
Coordinator and SFSP delivery driver ensuring meals are prepared and delivered in a timely manner.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
